• The International standard ISO / IEC 17020:1998 (TCVN ISO / IEC 17020:2001) “General Critera For the Operation of Various Type of Bodies Performing Inspection” is a tool to set up quality management system with the objective of promoting confidence in those bodies performing inspection which conform to it. • The accreditation of inspection bodies is receiving great attention from the international, regional and national accreditation bodies. ILAC and APLAC have recently formed the MRA group for inspection accreditation program. • The Vietnam Inspection Accreditation Scheme (VIAS) was launched in 2002 by Bureau of Accreditation under Directorate for Standards and Quality. VIAS adopts the ISO / IEC 17020:1998 (TCVN ISO / IEC 17020:2001) as its accreditation criteria.
• Improving management and technical performance. • Permission to use the accreditation stamp and logo on certificates of documents for advertisement. • Accredited inspection bodies are able to be recognized by government authority to carry out inspecting commodities for government enforcement. • Enhancing confidence for customers. • Enhancing image and competitive advantages in the domestic market and the world. • The customer can select the accredited inspection bodies who are independent, impartial and competent.
• The Inspection body, who intents to accredit, downloads the application form in BoA Website and fill in.
• On receipt of an application for accreditation (application form, appendix, questionnaire), the sale manager will contact to the ispection body and make the necessary arrangement for the preliminary and initial assessment
• The assesment team include: 1 quality assessor and technical assessor(s) (the number of technical assesor depend on the lab’field of accreditation). The technical assessor is contract assessor, who has experiences, knowledge in the Ispection field.
• It is accredited when the Inspection bodies comply with requirements of the ISO/IEC 17020
• Upon approval, BoA will grant a certificate of accreditation.
