Technical Meeting for Joint Sectoral Committee for Electricity and Electronic Equipment (JSC EEE)

Forty-four participants from ASEAN member countries and observers from China, Japan, New Zealand attended the 3rd JSC EEE Meeting at Hanoi Horison Hotel, Vietnam, 20-22 April 2007.

Forty-four participants from ASEAN member countries and observers from China, Japan, New Zealand attended the 3rd JSC EEE Meeting at Hanoi Horison Hotel, Vietnam, 20-22 April 2007.

The meeting mentioned many issues such as progress in implementing the ASEAN EE MRA, progress of the agreement on the ASEAN harmonized EEE regulations. The technical discussions included:

• Matrix of comparison between the existing Technical Regulation of Member Countries
• Guiding Principle for harmonization of technical regulations/mandatory standards covered by the ASEAN EEE Agreement
• Matrix of the existing technical regulation of member countries and practice for harmonization
• Guidelines to determine the type of conformity assessment regime based on the risk assessment for EEE.
